With his 4th creation for the Ballet de l'Opera National du Rhin, Gil Harush pays tribute to George Balanchine's famous "Serenade" (1934), 90 years after its creation. The piece is an ode to romanticism, consciously, out of a wish to tell all possible love stories, even though it is not possible. The effort to love and be loved is the engine of the narrative, next to the presentation of the fragility that exists in romantic relationships. The work seeks to raise awareness of the difference between the concept of love and the concept of relationships and the human aspiration to combine them.
