When I stretch my neck, you stroke it gently with your fingers and skim through an artery. I look at the couch we are sitting on together and I know that I'm about to walk away.

Like a chunk of hair sneaking into silky youth... By mistake. It feels as if it is by chance. Never, it appears, will a settlement be reached that can keep us together­ You're comfortable in the sweatpants that I hate wearing.

And despite all this and more, when the street is sending cat sounds and colorful shapes into my bedroom, Creating an atmosphere of an immeasurable quality, there is no one else I can think of, with whom I would want to be covered under the sheets, in silence.
